While costs can be astonishingly cheaper, the working conditions can be terrible in overseas factories that are not regulated and monitored. At Rozik, we’re proud to say we know that the people who sew our clothes are treated well, paid fair wages, and work in safe conditions. This graphic from CNN shows the cost difference of overseas manufacturing — but in light of the garment factory tragedies in Bangladesh, the cost savings is just not worth people’s lives.

My ride w/Rozik

Fri Mar 15, 2013 10:38 am

Just wanted to plug these pants because I love them so damn much.

Reviewer Jacob Salassi races for Dallas Bike Works

I had often found myself being discouraged from non-training road rides due to having to change clothes all the time. I love the idea of hopping on the bike and going for a more casual spin but I have a hard time going ‘easy’. I always end up sweaty and uncomfortable wearing regular shorts, or god forbid, jeans.

So I saw Rozik at a cyclocross race toward the end of last season and was interested, but forgot over time. I remembered and decided I wanted to try some on before committing to an order, and Anne @ Rozik responded right away and was willing to meet me. I forgot again (oops), and about a month went by. I emailed Anne again after reading the review on tx mountain bike trails blog and she was still super friendly and willing to meet me even though I flaked out on her the first time.

In the intervening few days I managed to eat it majorly on the Santa Fe trail and wound up needing stitches, so I had to push our meeting back again. Anne was still friendly, and worked out a day to meet.

The day came, I showed up looking 100% legit in bandages and Anne showed me the wares. I was a little torn between the trousers or knickers because I knew I would almost always be riding in some form of “shorts”, but I went with the trouser because it offered a little more flexibility because its trousers and knickers, IN ONE. I tried them on, talked about fit, and was on my merry way.

Back to the crash, well this meant I couldnt really ride with the pants for a few weeks, so what did I do instead? Just wear them for 2 weeks while doing nothing. It was the most comfortable 2 weeks of my life.

Dudes, you cant appreciate it until you wear them, but the gusseted crotch is awesome. It sounds stupid, but I seriously was sitting at my desk repeatedly thinking “damn, these are so comfortable.”. I am not lying when I tell you this thought has NEVER crossed my mind about any item of clothing ive owned, ever. I didn’t even need to get on the bike to know I loved the pants then. So, after two weeks of loving them, I washed them again and decided it was time to ride in them.

I took this ride around the lake: http://app.strava.com/activities/44244035

17mph avg wasn’t full out but its not leisurely either, and the pants were phenomenal. I had them rolled up and buttoned in the knicker configuration and even with an average temp of 66* I was not feeling sweaty in the pants. The thing that stood out to me most during the ride was what I didn’t notice at all, chafing. I ALWAYS get chafing if I ride in street clothes, I got ZERO from these pants.

I took two more actual leisure rides with lots stuff in my pockets (keys, wallet, and phone). The pants worked as advertised, the pockets did not make me fearful for losing my stuff. The stretch was perfect, the pants do not bind at all.

Overall, these pants are a 10 out of 10. My personal anecdote is that if you prefer a tighter fit, go ahead and dry them in the drier on a LOW setting to get a little more shrink out of them. The tag discourages using the drier and for good reason, they contain a spandex like material so there is a danger of messing them up on high heat. The pants shrink 1-1.5 inches in length so pay attention to your inseam and order accordingly.

(Photo: Rozik)

Well, I was all set to tell you about this nifty new line of cycle clothing, and then I read the website more closely. So before you hear about the fun, sensible, stylish Rozik apparel, you’ll find out something else really wonderful.

Rozik has partnered with Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind, which means that every piece of clothing you buy is inspected, folded and tagged by Lighthouse employees. Plus, every sale of this item puts $5 into this Dallas organization.

OK, back to the company, which was started by Dallas residents and cycling fiends Anthony Rosich and Anne Clarrissimeaux.

I’ll let Anthony take it from here, in this which I in turn took from the website: “One day while racing back to my place to grab a quick change of clothes before meeting up with some friends for dinner, I realized how diverse a day can be; on any given day, I could be on a bike commuting to work, sitting in a meeting for hours, catching a last-minute business flight, hanging out with friends, or meeting out for a date. Rather than having to do this crazy mad dash to change clothes, it hit me like a brick wall: Why can’t I have clothes that go in any direction I go?

Why not, indeed? And thus, a company for people who commute by bicycle was born.

New Casual Bicycle Apparel By Rozik

Posted by Hunter

You do a lot, but can your clothes keep up? This is the mantra that inspired the creators of Rozik to produce a new range of bicycle apparel, that is simply better suited to our hectic lifestyles.

The requirement is clear: we need clothes that are affordable, comfortable for an active commute, look nothing like workout gear, include smart features, and they must look great. We don’t have time to change, we need clothes that work for us all day long, no matter what we’re doing.

This ideal IS attainable and we’re seeing major apparel companies engage this rapidly expanding and grossly underserved market. Rozik has announced its intentions to compete by offering a limited range of Knickers, Trousers and Tee’s that have all the features on our wish list. Soon they’ll also offer a dress shirt and a dedicated range of bicycle clothing for women.

Plus, they’re MADE IN AMERICA.

Dallas Residents Launch New Activewear Line

Rozik’s The Analyzer trousers with tabs to roll up pant legs, reflective pocket flap for safe riding, and raised back coverage to keep rearends undercover.
Designed with bicycle commuters in mind, Rozik is a new Dallas-based line of “every wear” clothing that allows you to bike to work, or hurry to happy hour afterward, without the annoying wardrobe change. Launched in 2012 by locals Anne Clarrissimeaux and Anthony Rosich, Rozik sells what appear to be classic men’s khakis–except they’re made out of comfortable, breathable material, making it easy to transition from work to play–and everything in between. (And since the owners are cycling enthusiasts, the pant legs even have tabs that make them easy to roll up to keep clear of bicycle chains, and there’s a hidden reflective flap for extra visibility when riding at night.)

Not only is the line owned by Dallas residents, but all of the clothing is produced right here in North Texas. Clarrissimeaux and Rosich say they are working hard to re-establish the clothing manufacturing industry in Dallas, and they’re helping local charities along the way. The company has partnered with Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind’s Sewing Center, which helps with the final stages of manufacturing the clothing, and in return, a portion of the profits from t-shirt sales go to benefit the organization.

Rozik currently sells only men’s clothing, but a women’s line is in production and should be hitting stores sometime this summer. Until then, you can purchase the men’s merchandise from Transit Bicycle Company and Richardson Bike Mart.

Jessica Mitzner is a ShopTalk intern.

Update: The clothing is not created exclusively as a workout pant, but as a pant that allows lots of activity.

Big thanks to Christopher Cudworth for a fun — and our first official — review of Rozik clothes. Check out his blog We Run and Ride for insightful and entertaining anecdotes and information related to running and cycling.

In this review, Chris takes a look at the Analyzer trousers and gives ‘em a test run … and figures out that these pants are pretty great but points out that one feature in particular makes them basically the best pants he’s ever worn.

Rozik designing bike clothes that go beyond the commute

Posted on February 8, 2013

By Christopher Cudworth

If you were going to design a line of pants for bicycling commuters, where would you start? The fabric? The design? The crotch?

If you answered “all three” then you might have what it takes to be bike clothes designers the likes of Anne Clarrissimeaux and Anthony Rosich of Dallas (TX), who have launched a company named Rozik to make clothing for cyclists who like to ride to work without changing all sorts of clothes when they get there. The tagline for the company (www.rozik-us.com) is “Clothes that go in any direction life takes you.”

Breaking the right rules

Rozik pants are fashionable. And functional.

It makes a lot of fun sense for a line of commuter clothing to break a few rules while paying attention to key points of style. For starters, the pants look good, like a pair of working khakis should. But hidden in the weave is just enough stretch (just 3% spandex) to make these 97% cotton pants feel good when you climb on your bike and ride to work. Yet they look great when you step in the office. No one need know that your Rozik khakis are designed for any other purpose than doing what office clothes do. Fit in. Yet stand out. It’s all good with Rozik.

The line of pants designed by Rozik is both stylish and smartly designed. But let us discuss a vital point at risk of being indelicate. Upon trying on a pair of Rozik pants, the one comment that guys are sharing about the design is that they offer room where it counts. In the crotch.

Seamless comfort

The room and flow extends from stem to stern.

There’s no thick seam to pressure the area where you sit on the bike seat. And the pants have a “gusset” designed into the underside of the crotch to allow room for comfort and movement. That’s even more important to a commuter pant than a line of chamois, which only makes you feel uncomfortable and thick if you were to wear them to work.

Beyond cycling, the design of Rozik pants could start a minor revolution of sorts with men. Because while looks count in the cut of a pair of pants, ultimately what rules is comfort. Rozik pants are comfortable. Even to those who might want to go commando. Not recommended for the office, of course. But no one works all the time. And Rozik is designed, as the tagline says, “to go in any direction life takes you.”

Discreet benefits

While selling her line of pants to bike shops across the country, Anne Clarrissimeaux has learned to let the pants speak for themselves on the subject of, shall we say, the low country comfort. “It’s a little awkward to speak right to the point,” she admits. “But guys figure it out for themselves pretty quick.”

The revolution may be beginning already. Testimonials on the Rozik website confirm the comfort factor

“I am in love with my new trousers. You guys have done such a killer job with the fit, that I’m starting to realize that my previous pants problems may have been more about everybody else’s poorly fit pants, and not so much my generously-portioned cyclist butt.”

“So it’s all true: the new Rozik trousers are magically comfy.”

“Folks, these pants are wicked awesome. Totally digging my pair.”

Practical innovation

City riding is easy in a pair of Analyzer Rozik pants.

The pants have several great practical features that complement the comfort factor. The full-length khakis easily roll up to mid-calf and button with a tab. The process takes just seconds and the pants unroll wrinkle free. There is also the SafeSwitch, a patent-pending pocket design that allows commuters to pop out a reflective tab on the back pocket for travel, and a discreet zippered pocket to hold a wallet, keys or other items.

The knickers are simply cool.

The stylish knickers do not look like knickers in the traditional sense of the word, but end smartly below the knee in a cut that says “I can go where I want to go in these pants.”

Freedom and incorporation

Rozik is designed for self-assured men who know their schedules and commute by bike because they like the freedom and feel of incorporating their cycling into a critical part of their lives. That’s not to say that Rozik pants would not work for a trip to the library our out with friends for a cruises to a local eatery and a night dancing before riding home. Just bring a light for your bike. The pants will handle the rest of the evening.

Rozik=Every Wear

The logo tagline encapsulates the future plan for the compay. Rozik: Every Wear.

The growing line of Rozik clothing includes the Analyzer pants, the Wanderer knickers as the central offerings of the new line. Rozik tee shirts compliment the pants line and a set of slacks called The Traveler is coming soon, along with a lean cut shirt called The Thinker and a women’s shirt as the first expansion toward the female market.

Anne Clarrissimeaux is busy expanding the distribution network for the Rozik line, offering the clothes through bike shops in Texas and Illinois for starters. The Twitter site is @rozikeverywear and on Facebook under Rozik Wear.

It’s a simple proposition. Rozik makes Clothes that go in any direction life takes you. Even if you choose to go commando. But we won’t tell.

While spandex works for racing and long ride, avid cyclist Anthony Rosich wanted clothing that works for the times he commutes to work on two wheels or rides to a restaurant to meet a friend for dinner. He didn’t want to have to make a trip home to change; why couldn’t his cycling clothes be more user-friendly? And yes, they had to look good. After more than a year of research and development, Rosich and girlfriend Anne Clarrissimeaux have launched Rozik Every Wear, a Grapevine-based line of urban activewear aimed at the cyclist looking for user-friendly clothing that also looks good. The men’s cotton/viscose knickers and trousers come in a slim, Euro-style fit with a bit of stretch and extra touches, including a raised-back waistband, a special gusset design to help prevent chafing, deep pockets, reflective strips on pocket flaps that tuch away out of sight, and leg tabs to keep trouser legs clean and clear of bicycle chains. The color palette ranges from olive to black, khaki and blue steel (knickers only). The couple worked hard to source domestic talent, and the line bears a Made in the USA label. The Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind is involved in inspecting, folding and tagging Rozik garments before they’re packaged and shipped. A men’s shirt and women’s garments are in the works, but The Analyzer (long pants, $110); The Wanderers (knickers, $95); and Rozik T-shirts ($20) are available online at rozik-us.com or at Trinity Bicycles and Transit Bicycle Co.
